The lens felt intimidating, almost threatening. Years later, that very same lens would become the way I chose to observe and interpret the world.<\/p><p data-start=\"399\" data-end=\"490\">I was born in 1970 in Castelo Branco, Portugal, the city where I still live and work today.<\/p><p data-start=\"399\" data-end=\"490\">\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"492\" data-end=\"696\">My interest in photography truly began to develop in 1987. The following year, I bought my first SLR camera, a Praktica, beginning a journey that started as curiosity and quickly grew into a deep passion.<\/p><p data-start=\"698\" data-end=\"974\">Since then, photography has become a way of staying attentive to the world around me. An exercise in observing light, time, and the small details that often go unnoticed: the movement of a landscape, a human expression, a drop of water, a ray of sunlight crossing the horizon.<\/p><p data-start=\"698\" data-end=\"974\">\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"976\" data-end=\"1370\">Over the years I have taken part in several collective exhibitions, had work published in photography magazines, and received a number of recognitions. Among them are <strong data-start=\"1143\" data-end=\"1256\">1st and 2nd place in the colour category at the Castelo Branco Parish Council Photography Competition in 2005<\/strong>, as well as an <strong data-start=\"1272\" data-end=\"1369\">International Honourable Mention in the Microsoft Future Pro Photographer competition in 2008<\/strong>.<\/p><p data-start=\"976\" data-end=\"1370\">\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"1372\" data-end=\"1636\">With a background in new technologies, I found in photography a way to bring together artistic sensitivity and technical thinking. Today I mainly work with <strong data-start=\"1528\" data-end=\"1572\">nature photography, video, and timelapse<\/strong>, exploring the relationship between light, landscape, and time.<\/p><p data-start=\"1372\" data-end=\"1636\">\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"1638\" data-end=\"1741\">I believe photography has a unique power: the ability to preserve moments that will never happen again.<\/p><p data-start=\"1638\" data-end=\"1741\">\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"1743\" data-end=\"1790\"><b>In the end, it is a way of making time visible.<\/b><\/p><p data-start=\"1743\" data-end=\"1790\">\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"2007\" data-end=\"2055\">\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d71e50a e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"d71e50a\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-844a4b5 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"844a4b5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\"><strong data-start=\"1792\" data-end=\"1824\">Making Moments Last Forever.<\/strong><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ironically, photography entered my life through fear.
